It got its name from Baha-ud-Din Naqshband Bukhari and traces its spiritual lineage to the Islamic prophet Muhammad through Abu Bakrwho was a father-in-law and companion of Muhammad. Miraculous Meeting of Shah Naqshband. Being a great scholar in his time, he mentioned that Ibn Hajar al-Haytami often traveled one or two days then they measured distance in time or daysto hear the stories narrated by Naqshbandi shaykhs.
